Xonadinho da Viola is a Brazilian singer and composer who started making music in the 1980s. He comes from Piracicaba in São Paulo and plays the viola, a traditional Brazilian stringed instrument. His early influences included sertanejo artists like Tião Carreiro and Nhô Pai.
His song "Adeus Amor" became a hit in the 1980s, helping establish him in Brazilian music. In 1999, he faced legal issues over alleged plagiarism of that song, but continued his career afterward.
He has released over 30 albums and has worked with various musicians, including his band Xonadinho & Companhia. Other artists have recorded his songs, particularly in the sertanejo genre.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
