Xote Pras Meninas came out of Recife in the late 1990s, playing a mix of forró and pop. Their 2001 song "Baby Só Você" became a national hit. The band's lineup included Andrezza Santos on lead vocals, Flavinho Dias on accordion, and Renato Oliveira on keyboards.
They released several albums through the mid-2000s, including 'Só Você' in 2001 and 'Todo Mundo Erra' in 2002. Another track, "Longe de Você," appears among their top songs. Their live shows were known for being energetic.
Some of their lyrics addressed social themes, which drew criticism from certain groups at the time. They kept performing through the decade, putting out a live album in 2004 and a compilation called 'Nossa História' in 2005.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
