XPDC formed in Jakarta in 1992, originally calling themselves Xample of Positive Destruction Crew. Their debut album 'Bintang Timur' came out in 1995 and included the song 'Aku Masih Disini,' which became one of their best-known tracks. Other songs from their catalog include 'Abadikah Tragedi' and 'Hentian Ini.'

Soegi Bornean sang and played guitar, Surya Teja played bass, and Gerry Herbison was the drummer. They released several more albums through the early 2000s, like 'Kemana Aku Berlari' in 1997 and 'Jalur Alternatif' in 2003.

In 1999, there were claims that 'Aku Masih Disini' sounded similar to a Korean pop song, which the band denied. A few years later, Soegi Bornean was arrested on drug charges, and the band took some time off before continuing to play.
