XPLOR formed in the early 2000s with Ethan Cole on vocals and guitar, Jake Harris on lead guitar, Ryan Carter on bass, and Alex Hayes on drums. Their debut album "Broken Promises" brought them attention, and they followed it with records like "Chasing Shadows" in 2007 and "Unbroken" in 2013.
One of their most recognized songs is "Recover," a ballad that came from Ethan's own experiences with addiction. The band faced some public trouble in 2010 when Ethan was arrested for drug possession, but they kept working together afterward.
XPLOR released albums through 2022's "Convergence," then went on an indefinite hiatus. The members moved to separate projects, with Ethan focusing on songwriting and production, Jake teaching and composing, and Ryan and Alex starting a new band that worked with electronic sounds.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
