Xplore Yesterday formed in Seattle with Ethan "Echo" Wolfe on vocals, Alex "Riff" Ramos on lead guitar, Jake "Groove" Stanton on bass, and Max "Beat" Carter on drums. They drew from classic rock and alternative influences like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and Radiohead, working out their sound in local rehearsal spaces.
In 2015, the band released "My War," a song about a soldier returning from conflict. The track's raw emotional tone connected with listeners but also drew some criticism for its direct portrayal of war's human cost. It became one of their most recognized songs.
Their 2018 festival performance included strobe lights and pyrotechnics that reportedly triggered seizures in some audience members. After that incident, they adjusted their live show approach. They've released several recordings including "The Lost Chapters" EP in 2016, "Echoes from the Abyss" in 2017, and "Transcendence" in 2020.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
