Xross-Breed formed in Belgium around 2010, started by Sven Sauer and Tim Vanhamel. They put out their first album, Awakening, in 2012. Their early single The Vibe got some skeptical attention at first, but eventually found its audience.
They followed up with albums like Emerge and Transcend. The group includes vocalist Anna Rucinska alongside Sauer and Vanhamel. In 2015, they had a performance at a festival that led to some debate about their lyrics and what organizers wanted toned down.
They make electronic dance music that leans toward techno and house. The songs tend to have a pulsing rhythm and often feature ethereal vocal lines. It's the kind of sound built for a dance floor, but with a slightly introspective edge.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
