xSixx came out of São Paulo's underground in the mid-2000s, fronted by vocalist Rodrigo Santos. They built a reputation on raw lyrics and explosive live shows, though their outspoken critiques of Brazilian institutions kept them from mainstream acceptance for a while.
Their debut album 'Longe Dos Fakes' arrived in 2012, with the title track becoming an underground anthem. The band followed it with albums like 'Anarquia no Quintal' in 2014 and 'Furacão' in 2016. Their lineup included guitarist Felipe Costa, bassist Fabio Campos, and drummer Fabrício Oliveira.
Their lyrics often sparked debate about social and political issues, which sometimes drew criticism. But they maintained a loyal following who valued their direct approach. The music pulled from punk and hardcore, with some Brazilian rhythms mixed in.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
