XTN102 formed in 2001 around vocalist and guitarist Robson Vieira, bassist Brunno Souza, and drummer Pedro Coelho. They took their name from an old police frequency, which gave a hint about the kind of raw, grounded sound they were after. For a few years, they played small clubs and bars, building a following the slow way.
Their 2004 debut album included the song '4 Horas da Manhã,' which became a national hit. Other songs like 'Agora É a Minha Vez' and 'Passa Devagar' also found an audience.
Later albums like 'Sobrevivendo' and 'Viver' kept them going, though the lineup shifted. Pedro Coelho left in 2008, replaced by drummer André Almeida, and Brunno Souza departed in 2010, with Pedro Grim taking over on bass. Their music mixed rock, reggae, and hip-hop, usually with lyrics about everyday life in the city.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
