Xupeta Na Goiaba formed in Goiânia, Brazil, around 2004. Their song "15 Anos" became a kind of teenage anthem, capturing something specific about that age. The band's self-titled debut came out that same year.
Gabriel Thomaz handles vocals and guitar, with Ruxell on bass and Leandro Oliveira on drums. Their other songs include "Ronco Do Motozao," "Alcides," and "Cavalo Branco." They put out several more albums after the first one, like "Feira Ruim" in 2007 and "Contra o Tempo" in 2010.
Their lyrics sometimes drew criticism for being outspoken. They kept making music anyway, releasing "Fico Devendo" in 2013 and "Como Me Sinto" in 2016.
