The Y Pants formed in 1962 in Middletown, Ohio, when four high school friends started playing together. They were originally called The Chips before producer Jerry Fuller discovered them in 1964 and gave them their new name. Their first single, "That's The Way Boys Are," became a national hit.
Gary Puckett, Larry Curtis, Don Ciccone, and Chuck Crothers made up the band. They had a few more singles after their initial success, but the group didn't last long. By 1969, after Puckett and Ciccone had left, The Y Pants disbanded.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
