Y-Zit formed in Bayonne, New Jersey in 1981, with Zoran "Z" Djordjevic as their frontman. Their debut album "Within the Depths" came out in 1983, followed by "Aetheria" in 1985. That second album included "Aza Avelanao," the song that became their most recognizable track.
Their music had a dark, atmospheric quality that found an audience in the underground rock scene of the 1980s. Along with "Aza Avelanao," they recorded songs like "Chica Latina" and "Dans Les Clubs." The band released two more albums, "The Black Arts" in 1987 and "Whispers from the Void" in 1989.
What remains are those early albums and a handful of songs that still circulate among collectors of obscure 80s rock.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
