Yagora José formed in Brazil in the early 2000s, with Yagora José de Oliveira on vocals and Ricardo Gordo on bass. Their debut album 'Realmente Quero Ouvir' came out in 2007, and its title track became a national hit. They followed it with albums in 2009 and 2013.
In 2017, guitarist Rafael Schuster left the band after a public dispute with José. The next year, José faced criminal charges related to inappropriate behavior with a minor, though the charges were eventually dropped. The band released 'Nosso Lar' in 2019 and 'Tá Escrito' in 2022, which included a collaboration with rapper Emicida.
