Yami Datanshi formed in 2012 with vocalist and guitarist Yuya, bassist Kento, and drummer Takuya. The name translates to 'Dark Boys.' They put out albums like 'Tenka Fubu' in 2016, 'Zansho' in 2018, and 'Myōjō' in 2022.
Their 2014 track 'Escoria Lunar (part. Esperanza)' is a slow, heavy ballad about relationships. The lyrics tend to look inward, touching on isolation and darker moods.
In 2017, the band dealt with some plagiarism claims. They kept working after that, and their music found an audience with younger listeners in Japan who connected with those themes.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
