Yan formed in Salvador, Bahia around 2003, with Saulo Fernandes as the vocalist. The band's lineup included musicians like percussionist Ricardo Chaves, guitarist Fábio Cascaes, and keyboardist Felipe Andreoli. They played in local bars and festivals before finding wider recognition.
Their 2007 song "Sentimento" became a breakthrough, a ballad that connected with listeners. Other tracks like "Ninguém Me Ama" and "Vou Desligar" followed in their catalog. The band's music drew from samba and reggae influences across their recordings.
Saulo Fernandes remained the central figure in Yan's sound with his vocals. The group released albums including "Sintonia" and "O Mundo É Nosso" that showed their range within Brazilian popular styles.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
