Yankees Damn formed in 2003 around singer Jake Harper, guitarist Ethan James, bassist Alex Rodriguez, and drummer Marc Smith. They started playing local clubs and released their debut album 'Apathy & Rebellion' in 2006. The single 'Can You Take Me High Enough' from that album became their breakthrough track.

In 2008, Harper was arrested for drug possession, which led to a brief hiatus for the band. After returning, they released their second album 'The Fire Within' in 2010. They kept recording through the 2010s with albums like 'Echoes of the Damned' in 2012 and 'Rise Above' in 2015.

Their songs like 'The Silence Is Broken' and 'Where You Goin' Now' show the straightforward rock sound they developed from those early club shows through their studio work.
