Yann Perreau was born in Montreal in 1971. His mother was a classical pianist and his father collected records, which gave him early exposure to different kinds of music. He started a solo career in 1998 with the album "À la recherche de l'équilibre."
His third album, "T'embellis ma vie," came out in 2000 and included the title track that became a hit. That song won a Félix Award for Song of the Year. Other songs from his catalog include "Cloudy mélancolie" and "Fille d'automne."
In 2003, Perreau dealt with depression and spoke publicly about it. He has worked with artists like France Gall and Youssou N'Dour.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
