Yargo Ázaro formed in 1993 as a trio from San Juan, Puerto Rico, with members Yargo on vocals, Miguel on guitar, and Ázaro on drums. They put out a self-titled debut album in 1996 that included the song "Tanto Amor." That track got steady radio play and became their most recognizable piece.
"Tanto Amor" connected with listeners in a straightforward way, its lyrics touching on familiar feelings of love and longing. The song's popularity gave the band a wider audience, though their early years were also marked by some plagiarism claims that created friction around their rise.
After that initial period, Yargo Ázaro kept recording. Their later albums moved into more experimental territory, but they never quite shook the association with that early ballad. The group's output remained anchored by the emotional directness they first showed on "Tanto Amor."
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
