Yasmin Thomaz grew up in Madureira, a neighborhood in Rio de Janeiro, where she sang in local choirs as a child. Her music draws from samba and MPB, the Brazilian popular music tradition that includes artists like Elis Regina and Maria Bethânia.
Her 2019 single "Chegou Agora" became her breakout track. She has since released other songs including "Falando Sozinha," "Não Me Julgue," "Mulher," and "Deixa Rolar."
She performs with a band that includes Felipe Melo on guitar, Thiago Miranda on bass, Bruno Oliveira on drums, Roberta Sá on backing vocals, and Bruno Netto on percussion.
