Yayz formed in London around 2010, led by vocalist Lyra Ember. Their debut album 'Symphony of Smiles' included the single 'Smiles of Glory,' which found an audience internationally. The band toured regularly in those early years.
In 2015, guitarist Jake Hayes was seriously injured in a car accident, which forced the group to postpone shows while he recovered. They later released a song called 'The Truth Hurts' in 2018 that drew some criticism for its political content. Their third album 'Resonance' moved toward more experimental, electronic-influenced sounds.
