Ybraem formed in Madrid in 2007 with David Otero on vocals, Juanjo Gómez on guitar, Carlos Tarque on bass, and Alejandro Molina on drums. Their debut EP "Cara B" showed a mix of pop, rock, and folk that got them some early attention.
In 2009, the single "Una Lágrima" became their breakout hit. The song's melancholy melody and lyrics about heartbreak connected with listeners and pushed the band into more mainstream recognition.
After leaving their record label in 2012, Ybraem released the album "Hijos del Mar" in 2015. The album didn't land as well with critics or commercially, and by 2016, Gómez and Molina had left the band. They brought in new members including guitarist Alfonso Luna in 2017.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
