Ydin formed in Finland in 2004 as a melodic metal band. Their debut album 'Sydänteiden Sota' came out in 2006, followed by other albums like 'Aika Parantaa Haavat' in 2009 and 'Ikuisen Tulen Valo' in 2012. The group originally included vocalist and guitarist Alexi Parviainen, bassist Markus Niemi, and drummer Antti Poutanen.
Their song 'Ikuinen' appeared on the 2014 album 'Vapauden Valo' and became one of their most recognized tracks. Other songs like 'Inho', 'Kuoleman Kaunistama', 'Kylmä Ydin', and 'Kylmäverinen' also represent their catalog. In 2016, bassist Markus Niemi left the band.
