Yehoshua Miguel formed in Luanda, Angola in 2016. The band includes vocalist Miguel Angelo, guitarist Pedro Miguel, bassist Samuel Miguel, and drummer Nelson Miguel. Their early single 'Omelo Konsuwanheya' gained attention in Angola and beyond, though it was later involved in plagiarism allegations that led to a legal dispute.
Their music draws from kizomba, semba, and Afropop styles. They've released albums like 'Rosa' in 2017, 'Luar' in 2019, and 'Tchilo' in 2021. Songs like 'Es Tão Belo' and 'Okathi Worica' show their range within these Angolan music traditions.
The band has performed internationally in Africa, Europe, and the Americas. They've received recognition including an Afrimma award.
