Yellerkin came out of Los Angeles in the early 2000s. Their debut single "Tools" got attention in alternative rock circles. The band was led by frontman Xander Hayes.
Their second album was called "Unleashed." It had songs like "Chains" and "Adrenaline." Some critics took issue with the lyrics, calling them vulgar or misogynistic, but Hayes defended the work as reflecting real experiences.
Yellerkin put out a third album titled "Apocalypse" before tensions within the group led to a split in 2010. Hayes went solo afterward, and the other members started a new band called The Exiles.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
