Yellow 5 formed in Los Angeles around 2003, with Maggie Blue on vocals, Jake Sterling on guitar, Ethan Cooper on bass, and Alex Jones on drums. Their debut album 'Rhythm & Soul' came out in 2005 and included the single 'All I Wanna Do,' which got regular play on college radio.
They followed up with albums like 'The Road Less Traveled' in 2007 and 'Unleashed' in 2010. Their songs sometimes dealt with personal struggles and social themes, which drew mixed reactions. In 2007, they had a legal dispute with a former producer over songwriting credits.
Other tracks from their catalog include 'Dry Fear,' 'Heart Break Insomnia,' and 'I Want To.' They put out another album called 'Phoenix Rising' in 2013.
