Yellow Cake formed in 1991 with Alex Newport on vocals and drums and Jake Bown handling guitars and keyboards. Their debut album, 'The Fruit of the Fetid Loins,' came out in 1993 and set the tone for their industrial sound. They followed it with records like 'Archetype' in 1995 and 'Gods in the Gutter' in 1997.
Their track 'Animal Avant Tout' became a notable piece in their catalog, alongside songs like 'Goodbye' and 'La Fille Orange Au Clavecin.' The band kept releasing albums into the 2000s, including 'The Long Shadow of the Atomic Age' in 2000 and 'The Lion's Den' in 2004.
Yellow Cake's music drew criticism at times for its aggressive tone, but they maintained a consistent lineup and kept putting out work. Later albums like 'The Killing Tide' in 2008 and 'The Wings of the Wicked' in 2011 rounded out their discography.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
