Yellow Second formed in 2010 with Emily Davies on vocals and guitar, Thomas O'Neill on bass and keyboards, and Chris Wright on drums. Their debut EP 'A Mirror Dimly' came out in 2012, featuring the title track that became one of their better-known songs. They followed it with albums like 'The Search for Silence' in 2014 and 'All Things Will Burn' in 2016.

Davies had some vocal trouble in 2015 that kept the band from touring for a while, but they kept recording. Their sound tends toward atmospheric indie rock with introspective lyrics, heard in songs like 'Begin Again' and 'Chance of Sunbreaks.' They put out 'The Great Desolation' in 2018 and 'The Distance Between Us' in 2021.
