Yellowfants formed in Santos, São Paulo, with Leandro Rojas on vocals and guitar, Rodrigo Freitas on drums, and Gabriel Gomes on bass. Their 2014 single 'Guarda-chuva' became a hit in Brazil, getting regular radio play and streaming attention.
Some critics early on called their music too simple, but the band kept playing shows and built an audience anyway. The song 'Guarda-chuva' has lyrics about love changing things, which seemed to connect with people.
In 2017, there was some talk about a melody possibly being copied from another song, though the band denied it. That's about as much drama as the record shows.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
