Yelly formed in 2006 as a trio with Anya "Raven" Volkov on vocals, Ethan "Wolf" Hayes on guitar, and Jake "Viper" Smith on bass. Their sound pulled from metal, punk, and grunge, and they put out their first album, "Ashes and Dust," in 2008.
Their 2012 album "Ruthless" gave the band its breakthrough, with the title track becoming something of an underground anthem. That record followed 2010's "Damnation," which faced bans in some countries over its explicit content. Yelly's final album was 2015's "Requiem."
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
