Yerhmit Viveros came up in Medellín's Comuna 13 neighborhood, where he grew up hearing salsa and traditional Andean music. He started working on his own music early, drawing from artists like Héctor Lavoe and Carlos Vives.
In 2019, he put out 'El Traqueto,' a song that caught on quickly but also stirred up trouble. Its lyrics about the drug trade sparked arguments in Colombia, with some people calling it an honest look at street life and others saying it celebrated violence. The track's success led to legal issues, and Viveros was arrested in 2020 on charges related to promoting drug use.
He kept releasing music after that, including songs like 'Malo' and 'Se Quiere Ir.' He's worked with other reggaeton artists like Maluma, J Balvin, and Karol G. His band includes Juan Pablo Mendoza on piano, José David Ochoa on bass, and Daniel Giraldo on drums.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
