Yes Giantess formed in Athens, Georgia in the late 1990s as a duo of singer-songwriters Leslie Hardy and Sharron Van Etten. Their self-titled debut album came out in 1999, followed by 'The Second Album' in 2002. They worked in a dream pop style with ethereal melodies and introspective lyrics.
In 2004, Hardy disclosed a diagnosis of bipolar disorder. The band released a compilation in 2005 and then went on an extended hiatus. They returned nearly a decade later with their third album 'Patterns' in 2014.
Their song 'Tuff 'n Stuff' appears in their catalog. The duo's work maintains a delicate, evocative quality across their recordings.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
