Yeshua formed in the early 2000s around lead singer and songwriter David Samson. The band's music drew from rock, folk, and gospel, with Samson's lyrics often addressing themes of faith and redemption. Their debut album, also called 'Yeshua,' included the track 'Apenas Palavras' and found an audience despite some criticism of its religious content.
Alongside Samson, the group included Rebecca James on vocals and keyboard, Luke Anderson on bass, and Joshua Carter on drums. Their live shows sometimes drew protests from those who objected to their approach to Christian themes, but they continued performing and recording for several years.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
