Yesterdays Kids formed in Cambridge, Massachusetts in the late 1960s. The band included Peter Noone on vocals and guitar, Jon Pousette-Dart on keyboards, David Jackson on bass, Russell Smith on drums, and Joey Molland on lead guitar. They released their self-titled debut album in 1969, which featured the song "Nothing Gold Can Stay."

Their music drew from folk and rock, with some classical touches. After their debut, they put out another album called "Waterfall." Molland left the band in 1971, which changed their sound. They kept recording for a few more years after that.

"Nothing Gold Can Stay" and "On And On" are among their better-known tracks. The band's work from that late-60s, early-70s period still gets some play, mostly among listeners who follow that particular strand of folk rock.
