Archive material and source history
YFG Nxbre formed in Atlanta around the mid-2010s as a collective of rappers including OG Treasure, Kurt Codeine, Sickobabyxo, and YFG Rush. Their music came out of that city's underground hip-hop scene, with a sound that got grouped with what people called SoundCloud rap at the time.
They put out mixtapes and singles that developed a following. One track that got attention was "Tropa do Lil Fofo," which featured several of the group's members. Other songs like "Instagram," "Casa de Trap," and "Itália" showed their collaborative approach, often working with other artists from their circle.
While active as a group, the individual members also released their own material. OG Treasure put out EPs and mixtapes, Kurt Codeine worked on solo projects with his particular vocal style, and Sickobabyxo and YFG Rush pursued their own musical directions alongside the collective work.
