Ygor formed in São Paulo in the late 1980s. Their self-titled debut album came out in 1988, and the single "Poliana" became a hit that stuck around. The band had three members: Ricardo Pardo on vocals and bass, Antônio Elias on guitar, and Ivo Meirelles on drums.
They followed up with albums in 1990, 1992, and 1995, including an acoustic live recording for MTV. In 2003, they released a collaborative album called "Ygor e as Mil Vozes." Their lyrics sometimes drew criticism from conservative corners, but they kept playing.
Ygor's music, especially songs like "Poliana," connected with Brazilian rock listeners. They were part of that scene for a while, and people still remember them.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
