Yhakami formed in São Paulo in 2015, a group of friends who started playing small venues and open mics. Their debut album came out in 2017, followed by an EP in 2019 and a second album called 'Metamorphosis' in 2021.
Their song 'Recomeçar' from that first album became particularly well-known in Brazil. Another track, 'Vai e Volta,' also appears among their most popular work.
The band includes Caio Passos on vocals and guitar, Lucas Mendes on bass, Daniel Ribeiro on drums, and Felipe Nunes on guitar. Their lyrics sometimes touch on social themes, which has drawn both criticism and appreciation from listeners.
