Yigal Bashan was born in 1950 in Kibbutz Ein Gedi. He started playing guitar and harmonica when he was young. In 1977, he put out his first album, which was self-titled. The song 'Ein Gedi' from that record became a hit in Israel.
He worked with other Israeli musicians like Shlomo Artzi and Arik Einstein. Songs like 'Iesh Li Tsipor Qtanah Balev' and 'Sim Shalom' are among his better-known tracks.
He kept making albums through the years, with titles like 'Lo Emuna' in 1990 and 'Layla Aharon' in 2000. His band included Yoni Rechter on keyboards and Meir Fenigstein on bass.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
