Yndi Halda formed in 2001 in the United Kingdom with James Rushforth, Matthew Davies, Daniel Neal, and Oliver Newton-Howes. They started as childhood friends making music together. Their first album, 'An Autumn Into Winter,' came out in 2006 after some early demo rejections and financial struggles.
Their sound pulls from post-rock, ambient, and classical textures, with layered guitars and synths that build slowly. They've mentioned Radiohead, Sigur Rós, and Pink Floyd as influences. After 'An Autumn Into Winter,' they released 'Under Summer' in 2010 and 'Eyeline' in 2016.
Neal left the band at some point due to health reasons. In 2010, there were plagiarism accusations that the band denied and which were eventually resolved. They were still performing and touring after the 2016 album.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
