Yo Soy Toño started as La Changa in Tepito, Mexico City in the late 1990s. The band had four members: Juan Carlos Peredo on vocals, Gerardo "Gera" González on guitar, Enrique "Kike" González on drums, and Francisco "Paco" Villa on bass.
In 2005 they put out "Canal," a ballad that got them noticed nationally. They followed it with albums like "Yo Soy Toño" that same year, then "El Tren de la Vida" in 2007, "La Revancha" in 2012, and "Héroes de la Calle" in 2017.
Their songs like "Conchinha" and "Trilhos" mixed traditional Mexican music with rock and hip-hop. Early on they dealt with plagiarism accusations, but kept touring and built a following.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
