Yod S formed in Curitiba in the late 1990s with Rodrigo Tavares on vocals and guitar, Thiago Maia on bass, and Henrique Ruas on drums. They released their self-titled debut album in 2002.
The single "Erros Cometidos" from that album became their breakout track, getting heavy radio play across Brazil. The song's straightforward melody and direct lyrics connected with listeners.
