Yofa formed in Brasília in 2012 with Pedro Dantas on vocals and guitar, Rodrigo Ferreira on drums, Luan Mateus on bass, and Daniel Carvalho on guitar. Their early material had an alternative rock feel, with guitar work and lyrics that showed some influence from indie acts like Radiohead and Elliott Smith.
They broke through in 2015 with the single "Daltônico," a song about colorblindness that connected with listeners. The music video used a lot of color, which fit the theme. In 2017, Dantas faced sexual harassment allegations from a former girlfriend, which he denied. The situation led to some canceled shows and discussion about misconduct in music. The band addressed it publicly, expressing support for survivors.
Their second album, "Novembro," came out in 2018. The music kept changing after that, though the details here are thin.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
