Yohomama formed in Madrid around 2010 with Álvaro Soler on vocals, Isaac Marcet on rhythm guitar, Xuso Jones on lead guitar, and Martí Maymó on drums. They started playing a mix of pop and rock with some Latin rhythms, and by 2015 they had a Spanish hit with the single 'Acaso.'
That song gave them enough momentum to put out an album of the same name, followed by 'Somos Yohomama' in 2017. Their sound stayed in that pop-rock lane, and they kept writing songs like 'Alma' and 'Corra' that leaned into melodic, straightforward arrangements.
They ran into some noise in 2017 when another track, 'Sensaciones,' got hit with plagiarism claims. The band denied it, but it was a distraction. They kept recording after that, working on material that would become part of a third album called 'Nuevos Tiempos.'
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
