Yoke Love formed in Melbourne in the late 1980s with Jaymes Norman on vocals, Stuart Rudd on guitar, David Croswell on bass, and Doug Robertson on drums. They released their first album in 1989, which included the song 'Truly Madly Deeply.'
That song became their most recognizable track, a ballad with layered harmonies that found an audience beyond Australia. The band put out several more albums through the 1990s, including 'Skin' in 1991 and 'Earth Sun Moon' in 1995.
There were rumors of drug use and internal tensions during their run, though the group kept recording. They released a compilation called 'Love, Loss, and Lies' in 1997.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
