Yola Polastri was born in Lima, Peru, and later moved to Buenos Aires to pursue music. She performed in local theater productions as a young girl, developing her vocal skills before making that move.
In the 1960s, she gained recognition with "Linda Navidad," which became a holiday favorite across Latin America. She also recorded songs like "La Gallina Turuleca" and "Los Niños Y Su Mundo."
Polastri toured and appeared on television shows following that success. Her career unfolded during a period when women in entertainment faced particular challenges, and she was known for having an outspoken personality.
