Yolanda del Río originally performed as part of a group called Chicas del Can in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. They worked with producer Salvador Nasralla, who signed them to his label. In 1992, they released the song "La Hija de Nadie," which became their breakthrough single.
Their music includes songs like "La Intrusa," "Dile A Essa," and "Platicando Con Mi Hijo." They released several albums including Chicas del Can in 1985, Fuego y Candela in 1990, and La Hija de Nadie in 1992.
Some of their lyrics addressed women's experiences and drew criticism from some quarters while finding appreciation from others. They continued recording through the 1990s with albums like La Otra Cara in 1994 and Así Soy in 1998.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
