Young Bleed came out of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and put out his debut album 'My Balls and My Word' in 1998. The single 'An Offer You Can't Refuse' got some attention, and the album had other tracks like 'How Ya Do Dat' and 'Keep it real' that fit with the Southern rap sound of that time.
He kept releasing albums through the late 90s and 2000s, including 'Thuggin' & Mobbin'' and 'Fast Money Fast Cars.' There were collaborations with other rappers from that scene, and his brother Lil Bleed was involved in the music.
In 2002, he had some legal trouble with drug and weapons charges that led to a short jail stay. He got back to recording afterward, putting out 'Project: Platinum' in 2006. The music stayed grounded in that Baton Rouge style, with straightforward lyrics about street life and loyalty.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
