Young Deal formed in Rio de Janeiro in the early 2000s with Felipe Mar, Bruno Martini, Leandro Lehart, and Paulinho Moska. Their debut single "Agarra Minha Mão" featured soccer legend Pelé and helped establish their sound, which mixed funk, samba, and pop. They followed it with songs like "Midnight" and "Tudo Mentira."
In 2010, the band got tied up in a legal dispute over music ownership that paused their recording and touring for a while. Felipe Mar stayed on as vocalist through lineup shifts, with Bruno Martini on guitar and production, Lehart on bass, and Moska on percussion.
Their albums include Quero Ser Feliz from 2004, Alma Festeira in 2006, and later releases like Som de Favela in 2017. The group's lyrics often touched on unity and social themes, delivered over upbeat rhythms that kept a local audience engaged.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
