Young Family formed in São Paulo in 2007, with Valéria Almeida on vocals and guitar, Fernanda Lira on bass, Victor Almeida on guitar, and Vinicius Oliveira on drums. Their debut album 'Exercício' came out in 2010, and the title track became a hit in Brazil.
They put out several more albums over the next decade, including 'Música pra Dançar' in 2012, 'Renascer' in 2015, 'Volume 4' in 2017, and 'Futuro' in 2020. In 2013, Valéria Almeida was diagnosed with breast cancer but continued performing during treatment.
