Young Flow Crew came out of São Paulo with a hip-hop sound that pulled from Brazilian rhythms. Their 2012 single 'Garota' got them noticed nationally, a track that was both catchy and rooted in their local scene.
The group was built around MC Galo on vocals and lyrics, with DJ Will handling production and DJ Roger on turntables. They followed 'Garota' with albums like Destino in 2013 and Em Busca da Luz in 2015, which showed a shift toward more socially conscious material.
Their music sometimes drew criticism for its political content, and there were debates about their move to a major label. They kept working, though, bringing in elements of samba and funk on later releases like Tudo Novo in 2018.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
