Young Gunz were a hip-hop duo from Brooklyn made up of Chris 'Young Chris' Rolle and Ronald 'Neef Buck' Herron. They signed with Roc-A-Fella Records in 1997, joining a roster that included Jay-Z and Beanie Sigel. Their breakout single 'Can't Stop, Won't Stop' came out in 1999 and got them some attention with its steady flow and confident delivery.
They followed up with tracks like 'Tough Luv' and 'B.B. Gun,' but their momentum was interrupted in 2003 when Young Chris served six months in prison on a weapons charge. After he got out, they released their second album 'Brothers from Another' that same year. It didn't sell as well as their debut, and by 2006 the duo had split up.
Young Chris and Neef Buck both worked on solo projects afterward. There's been occasional talk about them getting back together, but nothing concrete has materialized. Their songs still pop up in playlists now and then, reminders of that late-90s Roc-A-Fella era when they first came through.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
