Archive material and source history
Yøung LÊ is a trio from Los Angeles made up of Marie White, Andre Smith, and Anthony Tran. They started playing at local open mics and underground spots before putting out their debut EP in 2020. That EP was called 'Malibu,' and the title track became their breakout song.
Their sound has been described as ethereal and introspective, with White's vocals over Smith's drumming and Tran's bass work. After 'Malibu,' they released another EP in 2022 called 'The Other Side,' which took a darker turn. In 2021, White faced some plagiarism accusations regarding her lyrics, which she denied.
